On October 12, 2001, by Decree of the Ministry of Productive Activities (G.U n.258 of November 6, 2001) PASCAL, the first Italian private Notified Body, has received the notification for conducting certification activities under the Directive 97/23 / EC (note as PED) on the pressure equipment and assemblies, and the approval third party approved according to' Art.13 of the Directive.
The main objective of PASCAL, is to provide a prompt service, well organized and technically perfect so that companies can be competitive against foreign competitors at the current market share.
PASCAL has worked for over 10 years for attesting the conformity of pressure equipment and assemblies in accordance with Directive 97/23/EC (PED).
The PASCAL notification includes :
- The certification of equipment and sets
- The authorization to the "European Approval of Materials"
- The authorization to act as "third parties" for the joints (Qualification of Welding Procedures, Welders and Operators)
- Approval of NDT personnel.
During this period, the portfolio PASCAL has exceeded 300 companies and over 2 000 certificates of compliance have been issued according to the all modules provided for equipment and assemblies, also of relevance ( energy and petrochemical plants).
PASCAL is characterized by competence, agility and attention to user needs by using a JIS characterized by high professionalism and experience. PASCAL makes it a common factor structures of ASA (Corporate Services CORE) and an Inspectorate made up of people who have completed twenty years of experience in the design, construction and testing of pressure equipment and large systems.
Were prepared, and are constantly being developed, procedures for the proper implementation of the Directive, with specific reference both to the equipment and to assemblies.
PASCAL is an active member of the "Forum of the Italian Notified Bodies" where, with other bodies, contributes to the definition of the problem of application of the PED and the achievement of shared positions between the various agencies.
PASCAL is available to companies to provide both clarification of the tasks required by PED for carrying out the activities for obtaining the necessary certification
